The Solomon Islands are one of the world's top snorkelling destinations. Swim among the coral, starfish and swirling masses of colourful fish on spectacular reefs.
The Solomons are part of the coral triangle, with the largest marine biodiversity on the planet, and many claim this is a top-five destination in the world for snorkelling and diving.
Papatura is blessed with world-class snorkelling right from the retreat. Both ends of the bay have amazing reef systems with a great variety of hard and soft corals, clams, unusual marine life and a huge fish count. It's perfect for first-time and advanced snorkellers, and for budding underwater photographers.
For those who can't snorkel, we have two Vuboards — so you don't even need to wet your face.

01 · Off the beach
House Reef
A small explosion of coral, anemones, giant clams and colourful fish — five metres from the main house of the resort.
02 · Off the jetty
Sunset Reef
Jump in off the jetty and meander round to Dolphin Bay, over beautiful coral bommies with white sand paths between them. At times the bay fills with small harbour dolphins — and if you're quiet enough, you can slip overboard and snorkel with them.
03 · 15 minutes north
Blue Lagoon
Snorkel the circumference of what looks like a volcanic hole, with swim-throughs and a plethora of marine life. A chance to swim with friendly black-tip sharks, sea turtles and manta rays. This trip has something for everyone.
04 · 2 minutes away
WWII Plane Wreck
Hidden amongst mangrove alley, you can snorkel the wreck of a Hudson bomber sitting three metres from the surface.
