The Solomon Islands are one of the world's top snorkelling destinations. Swim among the coral, starfish and swirling masses of colourful fish on spectacular reefs. 

The Solomons are part of the ‘coral triangle’ with the largest marine biodiversity on the planet and many claim this is a top 5 in the world for snorkelling and diving. Papatura is blessed with world class snorkelling right from the retreat, both ends of the bay have amazing reef systems with a great variety hard and soft corals, clams, unusual marine life and a huge fish count. It's perfect for first time and advanced snorkelers and budding underwater photographers. For those who can't snorkel we have 2 Vuboards so you don't even need to wet your face.

Here are some of our special snorkelling spots:

1. House reef - a small explosion of coral, anemones, giant clams and colourful fish 5 meters from the main house of the resort. 

2. Sunset reef - jump in off the jetty and meander around the to dolphin bay - snorkel over beautiful coral bommies with white sand path between them, it's a great snorkelling experience. At times the bay can be full of small harbour dolphins and if you're quite enough you can slip overboard and snorkel with them.

3. Blue Lagoon - 15 minute boat ride north of the island you snorkel the circumference of what looks like a volcanic hole with swim through's and a plethora of marine life. Have the chance to Swim with friendly black tip sharks, sea turtles and manta rays. This snorkel trips is has something for everyone.

4 WWII plane wreck - 2 minutes boat ride from the resort hidden amoungst mangrove alley you can snorkel the wreck of the Hudson bomber 3 meters from the surface.
