Papatura boasts an abundance of pelagic and reef fish. With thousands of reefs and waterways to explore, you can expect to find GTs, Spanish mackerel, coral trout and many more.

Our knowledgeable guides can take you out on the boat for a few hours or the whole day to explore untouched areas with plenty of fish. Spearfishing runs on its own dedicated boat with a driver and a guide, separate from the fishing fleet — so a spear trip never takes a fishing boat off the water.

Bring your own gear, or hire ours. We have spearfishing gear available on the island, though the range is limited — so if you're particular about your setup, bring exactly what you want. Talk to our reservations team about luggage allowance and getting your gear onto your flights; we do this all the time. If you'd rather travel light, tell us your sizes and we'll have hire gear ready when you arrive.

Where you can't spear. We don't allow spearfishing from the resort or in the bay — it's a marine protected area, and it's the reason the house reef looks the way it does.
